Advertising Policy
Purpose
This Advertising Policy outlines the guidelines for all advertisements and sponsorships within our podcast network. It ensures that all ads align with the network's values of inclusivity, integrity, and social responsibility, and it provides clarity on the expectations for advertisers, sponsors, and creators.
1. General Advertising Guidelines
1.1. Transparency & Disclosure
-
Clear Labeling: All sponsored content, advertisements, and promotional materials must be clearly disclosed to the audience. Creators must inform listeners when content is sponsored, whether through pre-roll, mid-roll, post-roll announcements, or explicit mentions within the episode itself.
-
Ad Placement: The placement of ads must be clearly identified, ensuring that listeners can distinguish between editorial content and commercial messages.
1.2. Compliance with Laws
-
Adherence to Legal Requirements: Advertisers must comply with all applicable laws, including those related to consumer protection, advertising, data privacy, and intellectual property rights (e.g., GDPR, FTC regulations).
-
Age-appropriate Content: Ads must be suitable for the audience demographic of the specific podcast. Advertisers must consider the nature of the podcast and the potential sensitivity of the audience when creating ad content.
1.3. Ethical Standards
-
Respectful Messaging: Ads must be free from content that promotes hate, discrimination, violence, or harm. All ads should reflect the values of diversity, inclusivity, and respect for all individuals.
-
No Misinformation: Advertisers must avoid spreading false or misleading information, particularly in sensitive categories like health, safety, and finance.
2. Prohibited Advertising Content
We do not accept the following types of advertising content:
2.1. Harmful or Dangerous Products
-
Advertisements promoting products or services that may cause harm or pose risks to public safety, including but not limited to:
-
Unregulated supplements or pharmaceuticals
-
Tobacco, vaping products, or illegal drugs
-
Weapons, explosives, or other hazardous materials
-
Gambling or online betting (unless legally approved for specific markets)
-
2.2. Discriminatory or Offensive Content
-
Ads that promote or support discriminatory views based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
-
Advertisements containing explicit language, graphic violence, or adult content unless specifically marked as "mature" or "explicit" content, and clearly communicated to listeners.
2.3. Misinformation or Deceptive Practices
-
Ads that make false, misleading, or unverified claims about products or services, especially in areas like health, wellness, and finance.
-
Advertisements for "get-rich-quick" schemes, deceptive marketing practices, or products that cannot substantiate their claims with credible evidence.
2.4. Political and Controversial Content
-
We may limit or reject political ads, particularly those promoting extreme or divisive viewpoints. All political ads must comply with applicable election laws and regulations, and creators must disclose political sponsorships clearly.
-
Content that encourages political extremism or seeks to undermine democratic processes.
2.5. Infringement of Intellectual Property
-
Ads that use copyrighted materials (e.g., music, images, trademarks) without proper authorization from the rights holder.

3. Advertiser Responsibilities
3.1. Ethical Ad Creation
-
Advertisers must ensure their ads are respectful, responsible, and appropriate for the network’s diverse audience.
-
All claims made in advertisements must be verifiable and supported by credible sources. Any promotional material must align with the highest ethical advertising standards.
3.2. Review and Approval
-
All advertisements must be submitted for review and approval by the network’s content team before being aired. The network reserves the right to reject any ads that do not comply with this policy.
-
If an ad is rejected, the advertiser will be notified with reasons for the rejection, and they may submit a revised version for review.
3.3. Audience Consideration
-
Advertisers must tailor their ads to the specific podcast’s audience. Advertisements that are out of context or inappropriate for the listener demographic will not be allowed.
-
If a podcast is targeted to a specific age group, the ad content must be suitable for that age group. For example, ads on family-friendly podcasts must not contain explicit content.
3.4. Ad Frequency and Placement
-
Advertisers should work with the podcast creators to determine the appropriate frequency of ads in each episode. Overloading an episode with too many ads may negatively affect listener experience.
-
Ad placements should be respectful of the flow of the content. The network and podcast creators will collaboratively decide on the best placement (pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll).
4. Podcast Creator Responsibilities
4.1. Clear Disclosure
-
Creators must clearly disclose all ads and sponsorships to their audience. This can be done through verbal announcements within the episode or by including a written disclaimer in the episode description.
4.2. Content Integrity
-
Creators are responsible for ensuring that ads are integrated seamlessly into their content while maintaining editorial integrity. Ads should not mislead listeners or disrupt the episode’s narrative flow.
4.3. Feedback on Ads
-
Creators are encouraged to provide feedback on the ads, ensuring that they resonate well with their audience and align with the podcast’s tone and style.

5. Prohibited Advertising Practices
5.1. False Endorsements
-
Advertisers are prohibited from attempting to manipulate listeners into thinking that the podcast creator personally endorses their product if this is not the case.
-
Ads must avoid deceptive tactics such as fake testimonials or misrepresenting the creator's involvement with the product.
5.2. Over-commercialization
-
Excessive ad breaks or overwhelming advertising in a single episode will be monitored. Creators and advertisers should work together to avoid over-commercializing the listener experience.
6. Enforcement and Compliance
6.1. Monitoring and Review
-
The network reserves the right to review advertisements and the content of episodes regularly to ensure compliance with this policy. Any advertiser or creator found to be in violation may be subject to penalties, including removal from the network.
6.2. Removal of Ads
-
If an advertisement is found to violate this policy after airing, it will be removed from future episodes, and the advertiser may be penalized or banned from the network.
6.3. Dispute Resolution
-
If an advertiser or creator disagrees with a decision made regarding an ad, they can submit a formal appeal to the network. Appeals will be reviewed and handled in a timely and fair manner.
7. Amendments
This Advertising Policy may be updated periodically to ensure it aligns with current legal requirements, industry standards, and the network’s evolving values. All parties will be notified of significant changes, and it is the responsibility of advertisers and creators to stay informed about any updates.
By following this Advertising Policy, we ensure that all advertising content on our network is ethical, transparent, and respectful to our creators and listeners. We are committed to providing a safe and trustworthy platform for both creators and advertisers.
